[Photo taken 13 March 2001] The cavern also uses colored lighting in areas to keep down the growth of "cave moss" -- plants that appear as green moss on cavern walls, not seen in natural caves. Artificial lighting for visitors allows these organisms to grow in show caves, but Skyline has discovered that cave moss grows poorly in colored lighting.
